Taken in the latter years of the Auchmuty branch, 08881 has uncoupled from it's short train and is preparing to run round in order to work the stock to Thornton Yard. The PAA hoppers would have conveyed china clay to Tullis Russell paper mill and the brake van was needed for support crew to operate the level crossing and help shunt at TR. March 1989
